Mariner

I didn’t do enough research in advance but the grip is very narrow on my new ANSI safety glasses. Love this product that works fine on my daily spectacles but not on my new workwear that has a thicker plastic eyeglass arm. I probably need a different model.

Bought 2 of these. Wore the first for a couple weeks as a delivery driver before the grippy rubber part easily slipped off my glasses while working. This almost broke my $300 glasses. The rubber part didn’t seem to hold up to sweat and retain the grip it had to begin with a week ago. The 2nd one I bought? A rubber end broke clean off while attempting to install on my glasses and I didn’t even get to use it. So under a month and under a day is how long these $15 retainers lasted me.

I bought one last Sept while in vacation in the Florida Keys. Another brand I had been wearing for years just didn’t last but, they were almost always locally available. Well they broke AGAIN while I was on vacation. Found this brand and model at a Fly Fishing Outfitter and couldn’t be happier. I would love to see more colors of possible and the foam float added to this model as well.

Great retainers. Don’t sit on your neck in the heat. Stay put. Long lasting.

I used them consistently for a good 8 months and it was good. Unfortunately the rubber part that connects to my glasses broke.

These are much more comfortable than the wire ones that stick straight out the back of your head!

I work on the water and have used different retainers nearly every day for 15 years. I love how these have all the advantages of any mono retainer without the goofy look of an antenna sticking off your head. The aesthetic of the braided mono adds a great look as well. The rubber ends on the original Mariner didn’t hold up very well, but the bigger retainer on the redesign lasted nearly 2 years. I’m ordering another couple for my family.

I liked them but after a few months the ends quite holding allowing the glasses to fall off. Sad they didn't last longer.

I like the recycled nature of the product and it worked for a few months. However, recently I had to jump into water with these on and where the line connects to the plastic snapped apart. Must be a weak point in the design. I've had single-piece chums in the past, nylon and neoprene, and never had an issue.

Kinda suprised the rubber part that attaches to my sunglasses broke when I was gently sliding it on. I bought the retainer brand new at Dicks Sporting Goods and I'm thinking they might have been sitting on the rack for a long time because i literally own 7 different Chums retainers that I swap all the time for different looks and never had this problem so I guess I'm out the money and more dissapointing out the style I was going for since they broke the first time I tried using them. Please help me out Chums because I really wanted to rock this style but Im afraid to buy more and have the same outcome if it wasnt a fluke. Let me know what to do here. I really wanted to give 5 stars but the fact they broke before I could even try them blew that and considering I have other style retainers from chums with no problem. The color was awesome and hopefully I have the chance to try a new mariner retainer and everything works out where they had just been sitting on the shelf becoming dryroted

Great product. Very comfortable even wearing for long hours. I work outside in Florida and wear my glasses 10-12 hours a day. I like it so much I bought 3 more for my other Costa sunglasses

Purchased the Blue/Light Blue, overall work great but the clear portions look Pink! Ended up giving em to my wife.

Works great have to wear glasses and with mask requirements at work and in world it keeps glasses from sliding off . Plan to use on kayak and bike.

Terrific product that is lightweight and environmentally conscious. The grips that attach to my Oakley's fit perfectly and have a very strong hold. Would absolutely recommend!

I love the water, I live on a sailboat and spend most of my time near or on the ocean. I have gone thru so many “dry” bags that I lost count. After Covid I decided to ONLY buy American made products. So happy to report the quality is amazing! I can tell I will have this little bag for a long time :) I ordered the sunglasses strap too and I really like it. Fair Winds Y’all!

Fits great with the perfect length.

Doesn’t tangle like cloth. Can be moved to various points on temples depending on what my head is against. Stylish colors.

Really pleased with the Mariner! Great length and fits my Costas perfectly. I bought 2 to start but I have a feeling I'll be buying a few more to have on hand.

The mariner is an updated version of the "off shore" from last year. This new version the "mariner" is what I have been waiting for a Well thought out incredibly sturdy Chums that adorn not only my $270 dollar polarized sunglasses but also my daily reading glasses. I have been a user of Chums for over twenty years and the "Mariner" is the Best yet.

Sturdy and lite! I appreciate the rubber attachment points, as they won’t unravel like a sewed material would and has in my past.
